Xu Yuan
Assistant Professor

Xu Yuan is an Associate Professor in Department of Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Delaware. Before that, he was a Hardy Edmiston Endowed Assistant Professor in the School of Computing and Informatics at University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He received B.S. degree from Nankai University, China, in 2009, and the Ph.D. degree from the Bradley Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Virginia Tech, in 2016. From 2016 to 2017, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow of Electrical and Computer Engineering with the University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada. He was a recipient of NSF CRII Award 2020, NSF CAREER Award 2022, IEEE/IFIP DSN 2023 Best Paper Award and Distinguished Paper Award, and IEEE CNS 2024 Best Paper Runner-up Award. His research interests include AI and machine learning for interdisciplinary applications (e.g., meteorology, agriculture, geoscience, etc.), security and privacy, data science, wireless networking, and mobile computing.
